I have been laid off twice before and felt like it had taken me right off the market to date women. I never felt comfortable asking girls to go out with me. I knew I had a lot to offer but I just didn’t have the cash to take women out to extravagant diners. It kind of took a shot at my self esteem, there were so many ladies I wanted to take out but passed on the opportunity because I didn’t think it would happen.
You’re not the only one out there who has ever felt this before. It has a lot to do with the male ego because you feel like you can’t be the provider or protector. Which is one of the things that attract women to us. I have a lot of female friends who have dated personals with lots of money but they only become frustrated with them. Women won’t to be with someone who is emotionally strong and takes responsibility. As long as you show leadership in between jobs women will be attracted to you.
It’s important to be motivated, and should always stay in the game. Everyone assumes that dating has to be expensive or women consider men with a low income as date worthless. Women will still date you as long as you’re actively searching for jobs. This shows your ambitious and motivated to start getting pay cheques. If you have had a successful track record only a shallow woman wouldn’t want to go out with you.
It’s important to get out of the house, I understand locking yourself up at home feels safe but it’s not going to help you in the long run. You need to interact with people everyday regardless if your working or not. Dating will help you keep up your appearance which will make you feel great on so many levels. By getting out in the world you’re going to meet a lot of new people and could run into some potential women.
If you’re not comfortable in a social environment, try online dating. This way you can meet women from your home and you still keep in contact with others. Always approach things in an upbeat and positive way. If the subject of jobs comes up, mention it in passing but never make it the theme of the conversation. Who knows you may run into someone who could be a great contact for a job opportunity. Don’t remove yourself from the single and dating list, network and consider it as an opportunity for someone who really likes you and not for your pay cheque.
